A visit to Cowboy Stadium (without the cowboys)

If you caught a previous post then you would know that I surprised Michael with tickets to Cowboy Stadium to see his high school football team go to State.

In keeping with our tradition, everybody (except moi) gets a picture on road trips.

As we were driving into Arlington I noticed that Six Flags, Ballpark at Arlington (above picture), and Cowboy Stadium were all right there together. Reminds me of Houston.....before AstroWorld disappeared.


It looks massive driving up. Didn't seem so big once we were on the inside though.

Now those TV screens on the other hand were humongous! I sure wouldn't want to be on that thing.

Can't ya tell we're enjoying the game? I do believe we were having a conversation about my earrings. ; )

A short getaway

Poor guy! I was tring to take pictures as we were driving up to the resort. The camera flash is really bright! ; )

This is the entrance right of the foyer. Sadly, the picture doesn't do it justice. It was beautiful! Lights where everywhere!

Ainsley (as always) had people smiling and talking to her. Who could resist that cute red head......and zebra squeky shoes?

Sure, I had other pictures that weren't showing her mid-drift BUT can you see that smile? First time she's actually smiled for a picture.

I didn't get any pictures of the foyer. It was huge! And people where everywhere!!!! This cozy and warm fireplace called my name each time we walked by. Think I could've stayed here all night.

The resort had snow slopes for the kids to ride down. Suprised my other half didn't join in on the fun! Wouldn't have been if he did.....would you?

A quilt and a purse

Just as I said I would, here it is. With a bonus for today! : )

I sat up last night and cut out all the appliques and ironed them onto the wonder under. So, I haven't ironed them onto the quilt just yet.

Had to have it personalized. I admit this is my first quilt and it is more time consuming than I thought. Sure, I could have passed on the flower iron-ons but it was tooooo cute to not too.

I *heart* this red purse. It has served me well, but is no longer holding up to its duties. I have officially handed it down to Ainsley as her first "dress up" purse. Had I known she was gonna squeal, I just might have saved it for Christmas. Ha! She put the thing on her shoulder and took off. I hope I haven't damaged the poor girl already. ; o

In case you didn't figure it out, we are taking a road trip Friday morning. SO SUPER excited!!! Michael's high school football team is headed to state. And yes, they are playing at Cowboy Stadium Friday afternoon. I'm thrilled to see what some are calling the "8th Wonder of the World", and too I love road trips with my family. I surprised him with tickets last night. : )
We are spending the night at the Gaylord Texan Resort in Grapevine. ALways wanted to go there, especially at Christmas. Looks so pretty!! Will have pictures for you, I promise!!

Christmas Tree Farm (and a birthday, too)

Two days after Thanksgiving we drove out to The Red Caboose Christmas Tree Farm. It was fun, but it was windy and cold.

Not only was this day our tree trimming day, but it was my birthday, too! Michael took us out to Cheesecake Factory for dinner and dessert. Yummy!!!

Thanksgiving 2010 (a wee bit behind)

We drove up to Dime Box on Wednesday night for Thanksgiving. I cooked all of my usual goodies that morning. It really makes for a crazy day. Between the packing and cooking/baking it's easy to loose to good cheer of the holiday. : (

I knew it was going to be an unusual Thanksgiving this year. We had gotten word that Dad's (and mom's too) headstone and all was finished and had been delivered to the cemetery. So, that's where my mind was. Wanting to go by and make sure it was all okay, but not really wanting to either. Dad's (and grandma and grandpa) resting place is in Burton. We drive right by on our way to Dime Box, so it's never and easy ride.

With that all being said, I didn't get a lot of pictures. Actually, Michael took most of them for me.
