Be Still

Last night at church we had a guest speaker....Mark Batterson. For those of you who have never heard of him....he is the pastor at National Community Church in Washington D.C.
Tonight's sermon was "Wild Goose Chase".....the adventure of not knowing where God will lead us. Do you know where you are in your life? Have you answered the call that God has placed on your heart? Are you certain you are where God wants you? Oh, I have prayed that prayer so many times the last few months. "God, if this isn't where you want me please help me get to where YOU want me". Do you have one of those places that you feel closer to God than any other place in the world? Like you can feel his presence....as if he's standing right beside you?
We may not get that answer we've been praying for....maybe He's waiting on us to make a decision and take that leap of faith. Only then will we truly see where our adventure is.
Here's a quote from Mark's book. "The difference between where you are and where God wants you to be may be the painful decision you refuse to make".
My hope and prayer for us all it that we have the courage to take that step and let God use us the way that only He can.

35 weeks down.....5 to go!!

Ok....so I have been a bit hesitant to take a tummy picture. But I also know that it is a miracle and a blessing that we have a precious little girl on the way.....so I thought I better capture it before it's gone.
I had my 35 week check up on Tuesday. Blood pressure was still up, she's still very low, and no weight gain in almost a month. Strange, I know! Reason is I have been struggling with nausea.....you remember what it's like at the beginning of the pregnancy? UGH!!! Doc gave me some meds to help...not sure that I will take them but at least I've got 'em. I have my next ultrasound in 2 weeks....can't wait to see how much she's grown!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!

I just had to add this picture in! He's 2 days old. Michael is getting him dressed to go home! This is one of my favorite! So little!! Where have the 7 years gone??

We gave Tanner the option of going out for his birthday or staying at home and fixing dinner. He couldn't make up his mind for days. Finally, hours before dinner he decided he wanted to go to Cheddar's. So, off we went!

Instead of us trying to figure out what he wanted this year we asked. We found ourselves at Best Buy buying games for the Wii. He picked a race car game (yes, another one) and Star Wars. Have got to say it was nice not worrying about whether he'd like his gifts!

VBS 2009

This past week we had VBS.....Reaction 2009. This is the first year that Tanner wasn't in Small World all week. With that being said I didn't get to take any pics of him. This is the only one I got! It just happened to be his birthday too! He's a bit embaressed because all his friends are singing "Happy Birthday"! Thought I was going to choke at the thought of him being 7!!!! Still my sweet boy!!! Happy Birthday Tanner! We love you!!!

Happy Anniversary

This year Michael and I celebrated our 9th anniversary!! Michael surprised me with a little getaway to Bastrop. We stayed at the Hyatt Lost Pines Resort. It was beautiful! Wish I had taken a picture of the HUGE trees. We spent most of our time in the lazy river.....which was totally fine with me! Tanner had a great time!

For lunch we headed to the famous "Salt Lick BBQ" in Driftwood. Good thing we had the GPS....this place was in the middle of nowhere. But oh, was it good! By far the best bbq I've ever had! Yummy!!!

This is the first thing you see when you walk in the door! Michael took this picture. He stood in awe. ; )

Wanted to have his picture taken with his shades on...but wouldn't give me a smile!

All smiles with a tummy full of bbq! In case you haven't noticed....it is his favorite food. Why else would we drive 45 minutes out of the way?

Exhaustion finally took over! You know they're sleeping good when you can hear 'em snoring over the radio!

Happy 4th!!!!

We went with some friends to Rudy's BBQ for dinner before we headed up to watch the fireworks.

We packed hot wheels and snacks to keep the boys occupied till the fireworks started. We claimed our spot 1 1/2 hrs before it started. Oh my gosh was it hot....we have been under a heat advisory for weeks now....it felt like 104 degress on the 4th!

Tanner and Caleb being so good and patient! Look at those red cheeks! : )

Happy 4th!! I couldn't help but sit and think about all of our troops who weren't home for our celebration......knowing that they were away from their families....defending our freedom. There is a special place in my heart for them.....please keep them in your thoughts and prayers.

Baby Shopping??

This swing is amazing. It has a canopy that you can see a light show on. It swings in two different directions. Not only will it run off batteries but also plugs in! WOW! They sure didn't have anything like this when Tanner was a baby.....progress, huh?

Here you can see the canopy. So sweet!!

Children's Museum

I absolutely love this pic!!!

Wish this picture was a close-up. Both of them are laughing....priceless!!

Michael surprised us a few weeks back. He took half a day off of work to go with us to The Children's Museum downtown. Tanner had a blast! It was nice to finally take Tanner to do something....I've been taking it easy...due to doc's orders (contractions started at week 27.....yikes!!!!)
