3 Weeks

My sweet girl is 3 weeks! How did that happen? She weighs 8 lbs 2oz this week (Tanner weighed 8lbs 3 oz when he was born). She finally go her first real bath. We have been patiently waiting for her umbilical stump to fall off. She loved her bath! Oh, how I LOVE my baby girl!

She is still nursing every 2 hours. Am getting use to the lack of sleep. Have to admit I'm enjoying every minute of it. Crazy? NO! I know that these days are gonna fly by and she'll be crawling before I know it. : (

Hope to have a picture of Tanner holding Ainsley soon. It's been crazy since school started. How he loves his little sister! Yesterday morning he blew her a kiss before he went to school. How sweet!!

Look at the little smirk! She's smiling. Although some would say it's just gas! Haha!!

Finally.....she's here!!!

I was due on August 26th. It came and went with no baby. I was to say the least frustrated and ready to be not pregnant. Do you know what it's like to be 41 weeks pregnant in August....in Texas?

We went to the doctor Sept 1st.....one day away from hitting 41 weeks. We were given orders to check in at 8pm that night.....time to be induced. Good news right? I can not tell you how SLOW the day went. Michael's parents came out to stay with Tanner. We all went and had dinner at Cheddars before we checked in.

They started inducing at 8:45. Contractions started soon after. At 5:15 am I was dilated to 4 cm. So they started the pitocin. Contractions were coming like crazy. But since the belt that measures the contractions was in the wrong place it looked as though I wasn't having any! Tell a pregnant woman in labor that she isn't having contractions. Thought I was going to lose it! Anyway I insisted that I was having major contractions. So the nurse moved the belt and VOILA! The monitor was picking up serious contractions that weren't ending before another was starting. Needless to say she shutoff the pitocin and started flushing it out with the saline solution. Now I'm dilated to 5cm. An epidural at this time would have been fabulous....but no relief. Nothing like waiting on the anesthesiologist! By the time he FINALLY gets there I'm dialted to almost 8cm. Try being still to have an epidural put in at this point. OUCH!!! Ainsley was born 15 minutes later at 7:43am. Yep, that's right my epidural never had time to kick in.

Sweet baby girl on the warmer.

She weighed 7.2lbs and was 21 1/2".

Ainsley's first bath. She enjoyed it.....didn't fuss at all.

How sweet is she!

Tanner and Ainsley. He was scared to go near her. He walked a big circle around the warmer. He didn't want to get close enough to have his picture taken.
